The new season’s Adidas kit… for 1989-90

Following on our earlier post on Adidas’s classy kit offerings from 1984-85, here’s some more all-time corkers that would cost you a pretty penny on eBay these days!

How about that cracking Arsenal training gear with a distinct German vibe about it, never mind the reigning Division One champions’ classic self-striped JVC kit that brings to mind so many stars from back in the day – mainly Alan Smith!
And who’s the Liverpool player who springs into your mind looking at this grey Candy/Adidas trefoil kit? For us, it’s Ray Houghton, closely followed by Grob in the goalie gear! The Reds won the League this season, nine points clear of Villa and 16 clear of Spurs in third.

Man U, meanwhile, only came 13th in the League under Fergie, who saved his job by winning the Cup (beating Palace in the Final replay) and going on the following season to lift the Cup Winners’ Cup. Love the all-blue kit, anyway, not to mention the young lady inside it! And whose head do you see popping out of the classic home kit? It’s got to be Bryan Robson, eh?

Thanks to Casual State of Mind for Tweeting us the pic, bloody ages ago! More splendid threads and trainer talk on @CasualMind_ and

While we’re on about Facebook, you must drop by the Got, Not Got FB page for a cuppa, as well. One lump or two?
