Brighton fan and Twittererer Julian Simpson@Julian1970 continues his tour of Barclays League Division Two in 88-89 and 89-90…
Please send us your Rubbish Snaps taken at 80s games… we can’t tell you how much we love them.
Watford, Vicarage Road. Watford and Brighton doing battle upon the sward are but the backdrop to this study of coppers and white wall. A very familiar view to us, we never missed Watford away.
Portsmouth, Fratton Park. Tall fences, big foreground heads and on the tilt at Pompey. Ticking nearly all the boxes for a classic rubbish snap!
Roker Park, Sunderland. A decent snap of the Seagulls in action at Roker, except that it makes you want to lean over to the left.
Sheffield United, Bramall Lane. Something of a restricted view at Bramall Lane Stand, which has the widest pillars in Christendom. Blades 5:4 Brighton, we’re not sure how many goals they actually saw.
Chelsea, Stamford Bridge. Some splendidly illuminated backs of heads on the North Terrace at Chelsea. Some tickets still available.

If you do actually have some rubbish 80s photos of the match then you should probably buy the retro-footy-grumble-fest ‘Got, Not Got’… runner-up in this year’s Footy Book of the Year, and this Xmas’s must-have stocking filler. Available from branches of WH Smith and Waterstones or online here…
