Another Sunday Afternoon eBay Trawl…

Window shopping for those old enough to know better…

With careful timing you can still get ‘Scorcher’ delivered on a Saturday morning, just like you did in 1973…

Scorcher Comic 21st July 1973… I loved Scorcher, unpolluted by other, inferior sports as in the case of Tiger, it was for the Soccer Purist. I’m sorely tempted by this beauty at buy-it-now £2.99. And I’m not even a Stoke fan.

This Oxford United sports bag in luxurious yellow and blue vinyl currently stands at £11.50. It takes me back to a time when schoolboys would not be seen dead wearing any kind of rucksack. They were for bobble-hatted, shorts-wearing hikers or French exchange students. For us it was the sports bag, with club badge/brand logo, or nothing…

What do you get the Leeds United fan who has everything?
How about this Original Vintage Action Man in Leeds strip, complete with badge?
The buy-it-now price is £399.99…. blimeh!

Due to their rarity value a virgin, unopened FKS sticker packer can be sold for a considerable mark up on its original price.
This collection currently has a bid of £19.95… but the question is, would be able to resist ripping them open to see who was inside, and inhale that 1970s air?

Previous eBay trawls can be found here, here and here

If you can’t resist spending hours on eBay trying to reconstruct your childhood then you should probably buy the retro-footy-grumble-fest ‘Got, Not Got’… runner-up in this year’s Footy Book of the Year, and this Xmas’s must-have stocking filler. Available from branches of WH Smith and Waterstones or online here
