Umbro 1992-93 Collection…. Part Five

Our final flick through the Umbro 1992-93 Catalogue…

We come to the end of this diamond studded collection from the Dawn of the Premier League.

With kits designs lasting more than a single season Chelsea are sporting an older style home kit and new style away strip with retro lace-up collars. Should have had white socks…

Meanwhile in Scotland, Aberdeen were sporting very plain and unfussy home strip with the odd sleeve flashes from 1991 adorning the away shirt…

Everton were also wearing last year’s model for a home kit alongside a bold new Salmon and Navy away strip…

Derby County were still wearing short shorts, with a sleeve detail that looked like a progress chart, and a distinctly Romanian-looking away kit…

If you adore this sort of stuff beyond what would be considered reasonable for an early-middle-aged man then you really should own a copy of retro-footy-grumble-fest ‘Got, Not Got’ … you can get it from branches of WH Smith and Waterstones or online here

  1. Whenever Derby played away people thought the Romanians were in town!
