The Umbro 1984-85 Collection: Part Two

Here’s the second part of our Umbro collection of kits as featured in MC Sports leaflet from 1984…

Newcastle had a new badge design and a ground-breaking silver away strip and Stoke had a radical pin-stripe design (introduced the previous season) replacing their traditional stripes, which made them look pink from a distance. We’d be interested to know if any Stokies actually liked this kit?

The rest were fairly straight-forward, smart kits, the West Brom one later having the addition of the ‘No Smoking’ logo.
We like them.. let us know what you think.

Newcastle’s away kit just looked grey rather than the intended silver. Watford’s is probably their most classic kit because they were fairly good for the only time ever. I had the WBA home kit as a kid, but in hindsight it was pretty nasty like all the others.
