The Premier League as it might look in Roy World…
This map of the ‘FA Luna Premiership’ clubs was produced in 1994 when when (we think) Roy of the Rovers Monthly was launched…

It’s not difficult to work out who they are meant to be… and now we know exactly where Melchester is.
I think we quite fancy being Thetford City fans… “UP THE PARROTS!”
(Check out Rovers’ home Mel Park here and the Roy World Kit Parade here …)
More of this sort of thing can be found in retro-footy-grumble-fest ‘Got, Not Got’… runner-up in this year’s Footy Book of the Year, and this Xmas’s must-have stocking filler. Your missus can get it from branches of WH Smith and Waterstones or online here…

Hola maestro, cuando puedas segui subiendo catalogos de kits como los de Umbro de la decada del 90`s, son geniales.
Un abrazo!
Ridiculous – what happened to Burndean, Carford City, Weston Villa, Danefield United…? I really could go on.
All fallen on hard times like Ipswich, Derby, Forest, Coventry etc…

Not surprised. Each match lasted about 4 weeks. One home game every 2 months is never going to pay the bills.
Melchester’s in north Wales..??!!?? Well, I never…!
So proud of my Headingley lads.
I remember this! Roy of the Rovers monthly was, I think, launched in the autumn of 1993 (as the weekly had closed in the spring of that year).
Many of these weren’t featured in the weekly version but I remember Tynecaster were longstanding rivals of our beloved Melchester Rovers.
RotRM were responsible for his helicopter crash I think? Not forgiven.
Clitheroe and Lancaster Athletic seem to have the same badge. Bet that’s stirred up some local rivalry over the years.
It has made segregation a nightmare.
Really loved the ROTR monthly book and much preferred those teams to the ones that were in the weekly. Really wish they would relaunch ROTR there is a space for it in the football market
They could even set it in the 60s and 70s?
Or at least run a strip in something like Backpass magazine.
That would be an interesting move, they could reboot the story back to the 60′s or 70′s and have a young Roy Race break through into the 1st team. There are loads of stories they could do based on football back then when the game had real characters. I’d buy it! lol
Some matches stretched over three or four weeks in the originals so there would be no problem filling in the gaps.
I think it would be very popular.
Melchester were the first British European Cup champions in 1970? Did Gorbals Hibernian lost the 1967 final to Inter Monza?
they rebooted the history at the time…. in the original RotR’s won the European Cup twice in the 60′s.
